چکیده

Abstract Background Onion ( Allium cepa L.) is a very important vegetable crop all over the world, particularly in Egypt for local consumption and exportation. White rot disease most serious of spp. caused by soil-borne fungus Sclerotium cepivorum Berk. Results In this investigation, five tested isolates Bacillus subtilis showed an antagonistic effect significantly reduced linear growth pathogen vitro. B. no. 2 4 highest reduction S. growth, 75.78 74.33%, respectively, while isolate 3 was least effective one, causing 66.67% . Under field conditions at two successive seasons (2019/20 2020/21), bioagent treatments percentage infection than Folicure as officially recommended fungicide. efficacy (78.57 77.78%) followed (74.29 72.22%), lowest (42.86 50.00%), both seasons. All increased dry onion bulb yield improved its quality untreated control plants. The chemical changes total carbohydrates, nitrogen contents, soluble solids (TSS %) enzymes activity related to defense mechanisms treated plants biological were considered. Conclusion This study aimed find agents against white evaluate their on parameters, components quality.

investigation of antagonistic effect of bacillus subtilis on biological control of sugar beet damping - off disease

due to the high antagonistic activity of bacterium, bacillus subtilis (ehrenberg) cohn, three isolates (b.s.ham, 204 and 202) were selected and their efficacy were studied in control of sugar beetdamping–off caused by rhizoctonia solani , in  in vitro and in vivo conditions.  in dual culture on pda, all isolates of b.subtilis inhibited mycelial growth of r.solani.  significantly, volatile metab...

Biological Control of African Violets Root-Knot Disease by the Used of Extracellular Protease Bacillus

The present study explored the efficacy of Bacillus spp. and protease production for biocontrol of the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne javanica in African violet media. Among 100 bacterial isolates from various soils, the highest nematode mortality was observed for treatments with isolate GM-18, which was identified as Bacillus subtilis based on cultural and morphological characteristics and 16S...

Biological Containment of Genetically Modified Bacillus subtilis.

Genetic manipulation of bacterial spores of the genus Bacillus has shown potential for vaccination and for delivery of drugs or enzymes. Remarkably, proteins displayed on the spore surface retain activity and generally are not degraded. The heat stability of spores coupled with their desiccation resistance makes them suitable for delivery to humans or to animals by the oral route. Despite these...
